Hello X350 Forum
I just picked up a Black 04 XJ8 on Wednesday.
As Fellow member "Sarc" knows this is now the Third Jag I now have. Some have said im nuts. Its in pretty good shape. there are some issues sunroof track is all broken and headliner is sagging i also think the right shock is kinda soft, other then that I love it. It complements my XJS and X300 XJR. This will be the daily work car as i drive aorund 150+ a day.
you guys have some tips for a new fellow X350 owner this my first "modern" Jag all my knowledge is pre V8 years.

Generally speaking the drive train is very reliable, but suspension bushes can wear earlier than you might expect. Some people have had air springs fail, but the really short life part is the air suspension compressor, (see post on how to double its life with a simple and cheap piston seal)
At one time worn rear lower wishbone bushes involved replacing the whole arm at Jaguar prices, or about £450 each !! However, bushes are now available separately, (but not from Jaguar), and you can replace them separately. Even the full wishbones are available at a lot less than Jaguar prices from after-market suppliers. These are the same as the S-type and the XF too.
You can get electrical and electronic gremlins, the earths at the front can corrode and cause havoc - various error messages etc.
Paintwork can suffer filiform corrosion like most aluminium vehicles, but this is just an unsightly nuisance. PM me if you want chapter and verse.
