I retro-fitted NAV into my '04 XJR. Everything works except the climate control. I took it to the dealer for IDS re-programming but they are having trouble. My understanding is that the menu to enable CC is buried. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Press the PHONE and MENU buttons together for 5 seconds and enter 1971 giving an indepth menu
DONT PRESS SOFTWARE UPDATE without an updated NAV disc though
Cant remember the complete list of options but there is a screen where you can tell the car what options it has eg SMOG,REAR ENTERTAINMENT etc if I remember
If that doesnt help not sure but maybe an later edition (ie updated) Nav disc might work?

Sounds like you need to take it to another dealer. There was a similar thread on this forum and the Jag techs explained that it needs to be done with IDS - the nav somehow needs to be "introduced" to the climate control module.

Unfortunately the IDS is something only dealers operate.

 

The diagnostic menu on the screen does enable the controls, but does not actually control anything. I believe it has to be done with IDS. My dealer was going to consult technical support but I have not heard anything back yet. I don't think they have done anything like this before. I was hoping another forum member might know or remember the exact menu. From other members that have retro-fitted NAV, they remember that the obvious option does not work, it is buried within a menu in IDS.
