How do you remove back seat
Hi all,
I just replaced the air suspension with shocks and springs, and one of the steps is to remove the back seat to get to part of the air system so I can clear the fault code. However, the steps shown to remove the seat seem to be off or I'm doing something wrong.
My car is a 2005 XJ8L any suggestions are much appreciated, thank you.

I just did this last weekend myself. Underneath the front edge of the seat are a number of little latches. They will either move left or right. Sort of hard to get to unless you have little fingers. They're a good inch or so back from the front edge. Just start with one end or the other, once you get a latch undone you'll be able to lift up that end, which will help you see the other latches.
Once they're all opened, the entire seat lifts up and out (just the bench, not the back). You will then see two cloth straps you can pull down to release the seatback, which folds forward.

Just finished. Here's some pics. A couple are a little blurry, but I was getting tired and my phone was wobbling., the moon was in my eyes, etc... lol I added a couple of the wires and straps being retained by the seat belts when I was reassembling. Some are of the bottom of the seat and the wiring harnesses that need to be disconnected from each side on the seat bottom. Anyway, here they are...

Another Tip for the seat base removal
Start with one side and do the outer catch first
Do this standing outside the car!!!
When you release the first clip put the handle on a screwdriver under the seat base to stop it re-latching
Now do the next one working you way toward the other side
Have done mine now too many times and once you get the hange of it you can have the seat base and back out in a few minutes
Cheers
