Strongly recommend that if you haven't done so, go to your local Jag dealer and drive one or two of these cars. If you have never owned one, that is the way to find out if you like it. The car in your attachment is a low mileage '06 VDP that has most of the options. The price is not bad, so it could be a good deal. I've never heard nothing but good things about TCD so if you are in the Dallas area, go drive the car, ask them if you can keep it overnight to get the feel and know if this is the car for you.

Texas cars direst doesnt service cars before or after so while maybe a little better price, watch out for worn tires, brakes, alignment, and service needed. We do more to our cars at the dealer since we dont want to tell someone that just bought a car from us a few onths ago and in for their first oil change that it needs tires, brakes, alignment, major service, etc....and buy the Select edition warranty from jaguar as its the best, most comphensive warranty avail after the 5/50 runs out. And no, there arent any real issue with that car

Yeah, i was just comparing price. i live in Fort Lauderdale,Fl and i have went and saw my good friend that is a salesperson there.... his prices are a little rough but you get alot... i plan on buying it there. im looking for an XJR with the Xenon,Nav,Bluetooth& Sat radio. Those are all important to me.

This is the car i drove http://www.alpinejaguar.com/used-inv...seHistory=true

does not have the options that i want.... so my buddy is trying to get that for me. i like the car..

but when it came to my question about the problems it may have... maybe i asked it wrong.... the car has a "leveling system" and i hear theirs some compressed air systems... do those things go bad at all? like transmissions, air conditioners, any vacuum system components (and id like to know what runs on vacuum) and things like that.... what has anyone personally saw go bad on the car?

the most common thing to fail on the air suspension system is the air compressor, it doesnt fill the reservoir fast enough in the am and throws an air suspension fault in the message center, occasionally a air spring fails, but not too often. Like I said, buy the Select Edition extended warranty through Jaguar if its a precertified car....if your overly concerned, its the best ext warranty you can get, with the least hassles if a repair is needed and more is covered than other ext warranty companies

not sure about all their cars but mine had brand new tires and brakes as well as the oil and filter done, still under factory warranty with select edition attached...plus lots of their cars already had select edition on them...maybe we have just seen diff examples?

im getting ready to buy a SWB 2006 in spring for sure and prob a 2006 LWB VERY SOON. Both will of course have the big chrome wheels, GPS, heated seats, etc. i can go to the same auctions dealers go to but will prob still buy both from TCD... to me id rather pay them a "finders fee" and let them do the work because they shop all over the US, i only shop FL markets. As well anyone can go there and buy!

Just make sure you ask all your questions first....new tires? brake life left? paint work? smokers car? warranty? etc

What does that air suspension control? (most likely a dumb question) is it similar to the ford system? like on the mercury marauder, grand marquis and lincoln towncar? or is this the "tilt" system... that if im in a turn it quickly moves airpressure?

no its a ride leveling system, there are no steels coil springs to support the car, only air.... the system is way better than the old Ford system, but like anything else nowadays, the more you have, the more the potential.......

so.... it levels... when does the pressures change?.... in high performance driving... or if i have some fat chicks on the right side of the car... it will apply more pressure to lift it?

also, when you have the nav system in a 2006... does that have the option for satellite radio?

Midnight.....we just got our '06 XJ8L in July (14k miles, titled in 3/07), and have been very happy. Our first Jag, after 15 years of BMW ownership. It's a great car, especially for the money (does anything depreciate worse than a Jag? We paid HALF of what it costs new, and it lookedand smelled new!).

The only "complaints' I have aremore road noise than I think is acceptable (mostly due to the P-zero tires,Idiscovered), and the slightly disconcerting feeling of body/chassis "loosness" and some rattling on really rough roads. On most roads it's pretty solid, but the jag seems nowhere near as tight and bank-vault stiff as my '07 Jetta GLI.

Reliability-wise, I've had no issues at all in 5 months, and my wife adores the car. It gets comments wherever she goes, and you don't see yourself coming and going all day like you do with a BMW.

For the price, for the bang-for-the-dollar, you can't beat it!

true true. i need a big car... im all legs.. and the XJ8L will do that for me. with the seat all the way back , i can still slide in the back nice and easy. and thats important.

So this is my next car, i just need to get someone to buy my marauder. or just pay it off really fast..... if i really really work it, i can get the car paid off in 4 months. and sell it for like 6K. (has frame damage) and fly to dallas texas.... how far away is texascarsdirect from the airport?

Midnight if you fly into Love Field (Southwest Airlines) TCD is about twelve miles, if you go into DFW (all other airlines) it is about 20 miles. If you are buying a car from them, they should be willing to pick you up at the airport.

Does anyone know if the prices at Texas Cars Direct are negotiable or are they fixed?

When i got my S type R they gladly sent their internet guy who was really nice to pick me up in a like new range rover, i did buy him lunch though at a nice restaurant before we went to the dealership as a thank you. I only fly into DFW when ive been there and thats where they picked me up at.

Chad, they are pretty much fixed. If you check their ebay listings some have the ability to make an offer, i think these are probably their aged listings.
