Default Jag weird trunk lock

So it started a while back when my trunk lock actuator motor stopped working. I purchased a used one off ebay and because it's a pain to get the motor in and out I hooked it up first and tested it just dangling from the electrical connector. i closed the claw by hand and then pressed the button on my remote and hey presto it opened so i went ahead and installed it. Hey presto now it doesn't.(except with the key. So having to remove the motor I disconnected the mechanical parts and suddenly the remote works again. Reconnect the mechanical linkage and motor goes dead again. So now i am right back where i started only being able to unlock the trunk with the key (trunk release button on the outside doesn't work nor the inside button or remote. I can't figure out the logic why the electrical motor works perfectly until i hook up the mechanical linkage!

Alan sounds like either the servo is weak or it is adjusted improperly. The other issue is lubrication of the mechanical portion. Good luck!

Does the motor make any sound when activated yet not opening?

There is no sound once I bolted it in place. I am wondering if it could be an earthing issue? Looks like the motor casing is designed to not touch the vehicle body. Maybe part of the linkage is touching metal somewhere.
