Hi, everyone. I am a current owner of a 2003 X-Type (and Forum Member - WayneCountyBill) and I found a 2003 XJ8 with 58K at an asking price of $7,200.00. It is very well equipped, one owner vehicle. I test drove the car and all went well, until I returned to the dealer. We lifted the bonnet and smoke was coming from the rear, left side of the engine compartment. After the car sat for awhile, we walked around the vehicle and looked underneath and no leaks/fluid. Could this be a valve cover gasket...?? Any thoughts? All comments are appreciated! Are you at all interested in the newer aluminum bodied XJ8 from 2004-up? They can be found for that price.
