Hi Everyone,
I am thinking about trading my Audi Allroad for a 1999 XJR even trade.
No money changes hands. The Jag has 225 km on the clock and the Jag owner says he replaced the pads and rotors, new flex lines, new front wheel bearings, ball joints, timing chain and tensioner within the last 3 months. The Jag comes with 19" aftermarket rims as well as the 17" stock rims. He didn't say anything about the transmission.
My 2002 Audi Allroad HAS 236,000 KM is in excellent shape inside and
outside and the 6 cylinder engine is in very good condition after the usual maintenance.
Does this sound like a good deal?

Also, this is the wrong forum, this XJR is a x308 nodel, not a x350.
I would not trade my 2006 XJR for an Allroad.
This vintage XJR does not have the expensive to maintain air springs like your Allroad. And has a MB transmission instead of the 5 speed ZF. So two of the major maintenance issues are addressed.
Not knowing the condition of the two, plus not needing 4 wheel drive in the Gulf Coast, I would do it. If I lived in Canada, I would keep the Audi. XJR's are not made for snow and ice driving. But the aluminum body is great to have on salted roads.
Never driven an Allroad. Never see them in Houston. But my A8 is much more solid than my XJR. Weighs a lot more also. With an aluminum body and frame. I can feel the XJR flexing when cornering. The A8 has no flex.
The XJR (X308 model series), is steel, the later model, (the X350) which also has an XJR version, is all-aluminium.
It is likely the Jaguar will have rust somewhere if it has been used extensively in Canadian winters. Note that the rear bumpers have a habit of falling off due to the mounts corroding away. These are made of Mazak and cheap to replace, just a PITA to do the work.

Does anyone else experience the flexing when cornering in their Aluminum XJR?
I have to say I do not even when cornering really hard. The body has so little roll as well with the CAT system.

James it would appear you found this Jag on Kijji ??? I found one that looks the same !
The xjr is a sweet ride and see from his add it has all the typical jag problems fixed except for the sagging headliner! Ask him about the cup holder see if it works?By the pictures I would assume it rides rough due to the low profile tires , but looks sweet. I say from his add and your description I would trade him you will have the classier ride!
As for your allroad I assume its stock? Auto? Have you addressed any of the known problems ? Cam plugs, coils? Air ride ? If you have a tune on the car that will knacker the stock turbos!
The allroad is a tough resell due to its gurthy appearance And adjustable road height ! Typical Audi sales are for the Quattro B4 or B4 style
