Default Japanese Sat Nav

Hi Guys, Is it possible to convert a Japanese Sat Nav to UK English on 2004 XJ8?

I don't know the answer but used head units are available and you will need an UK DVD.

Here in New Zealand many of our Jags are Japanese imports. Including mine.
I can't speak for other models / years, but for my 2008 X358 it was just a matter of paying $NZ250 for my area SatNav CD. (a few years obsolete compared to Garmin TomTom whatever, and only plan view not 3D view but never mind works great)

Other notes: (though the dealer did these so don't ask me how)
-Language is selectable on the main display unit.
-Radio frequencies can be set, whereas most Jap imports need a band expander here.
-The annoying "Kanachiwa Whatever" every time you start up, is a black box down right corner below the steering wheel and can just be removed, then attacked with a hammer preferably when out of the car. That voice drives me spare on my Hondas, and my Jap Import Hondas can't be satnav upgraded.

Kanachiwa,
Thanks for reply.
I have been to a local independent Jaguar specialist who says he has a UK Disk for SatNav and reckons he set the speedo to MPH from KPH
Thanks

I'm not sure but something in the back of my mind says that the satnav system in early models was a different type. If so then the latest disc will be very old; if I'm wrong then even so the latest disc is 2012.

On top of that the satnav is nowhere near as good as a modern Tomtom or Garmin; the Jag satnav is capable of taking you some quite odd routes. Furthermore ... I find the screen is much too far from the line of sight to the road.

In essence, in my opinion a Tomtom (or Garmin or whatever) on top of the dash is all round far better. That's what I use if I need to use a satnav.

Good Advice - I agree that the screen is too far away from line of sight and s difficult to read. Thanks
