Morning all

Went to use the car (XJ6 2004 ) this morning and neither of my key fobs would open the door. Unlikely that both batteries are flat so I opened the door using the key. the timer started bleeping and the engine started fine. I've tried the programming method holding headlight flasher and I'm not even getting the bleep after the fourth flash to tell me I'm in programming mode. Any ideas and theories would be most welcome.

The trick is that you have to flash really fast.

 

Just use the key until you can take it to a dealership or mechanic
