I have a 2005 XJ8 VDP Can anyone please tell me the location of the Keyless Radio receiver/controller. I am unable to get it to go into learn mode. This is an North American vehicle/ left hand drive. I also only have 1 remote for the vehicle. Thanks in advance.

Not sure of location but you need to program with a factory diagnostic program (IDS/SDD) with preferably a legit interface (VCM/Mongoose)

Also, have a charger on your battery when attempting to relearn/program any module as you don't want your battery to flatline during any relearn/programming process.

You can't get it to 'learn' a new key if you only one that works.

If you have two working keys there is a procedure for programming a third or more keys, but if you only have one working key then you need to use SDD software to programme a second.

You will require SDD only if you are programming the transponder with only one key. If the vehicle starts with the current key's transponder, you will not need to do this portion. For remote programming, please follow the following instructions and can be done with any number (including 1) for the keyless entry system, and requires only the vehicle itself and not SDD.
