Default Knocking under revs.....

Hi all - X350 v6 3.0

Lovely and quiet at idle, but starts knocking with revs. Could be belt/tensioner, or big end :-(. Any thoughts?

Recording is attached, thanks for any help

Just one. Are you using premium gas with the Jaguar? If not, that could certainly cause the knocking.

can’t really diag over the internet but probably rod bearing or wrist pin bushing

all the engines that use the duratec bottom end have these issues from time to time especially if you run out of oil

Thanks guys, she's always run on 95 Ron and always been fine (UK based car).. Will check the oil level, no idiot lights but worth checking anyhow 😉

Does the car take a longer period of cranking to start than it used to?
If it does, that that could be a symptom of the crank position sensor failing.
The engine will still start with a dead CPS, but it takes more turns to establish cylinder position and cold also result in a spark timing issue which may introduce "pinging".
