Hi. Does anyone know if there two different types of M112 supercharger that fit the XJR? Is there a later model that has a single reinforcing spine with teflon coated rotors that is a direct bolt on replacement for the early one with a double spine. I ask this as there is an advertised as new supercharger available on e-bay that doesn't seem to be too expensive. It's item number 150762164187 on e-bay UK.

 

If you do not get a definitive direct answer, look for the thread about the 4.2->4.0 swap started by Adam699. There is some discussion of the two.

 

For Jaguar AJV8 engines there have only be 2 versions, one for the 4.0 cars (4th Gen), and one for the 4.2 cars (5th Gen). The 5th Gen has helical cut gears (so is less noisy then the older one), has stornger bearings and a special caoting on the lobes that will help to seal it better. So you have the same one as being offered on ebay.
