My car is now concerned that in bright sunlight I need my lights on. This warning would appear if I went under an overpass or through a tunnel but now it comes on for no such reason. If I turn lights on then off it extinguishes for a while but then comes back soon. I would like to find the sensor and check the connector or replace it but where is it exactly on a 04 xj8 not supercharged not vandenplas not L wheelbase? Thank you.

 

Its the thing in the middle on top of the dash. See attached picture.
