Lower control arm front
I have a 2006 XJ8 Jag. & would like to know if the bushing on the frame end is pressed into the control arm? On my car I can move it back and forth slightly. If it is a pressed fit will I have to replace the entire arm or is a new bushing slightly oversize so it can be pressed in? The control arm is part #C2C39683. Is this arm made of steel or aluminum?
Thanks
Thanks
Might be better if you posted in the forum for your car (XJ saloons X350.X358).
However, both bushings in the lower control arm (UK = Wishbone) are replaceable by pressing out the old bush and pressing in a new one. The front bush on the 'banana' arm is a hydrabush and these can fail such that the wishbone casting will knock against the adjacent sub-frame.
Here they are on a UK website.
