Default Lowering Air Suspension

How to lower your Front Suspension within 10 minutes!

1. Park your cat on level area.
2. Turn your steering wheel to the stop fully to the left.
3. Locate a Pry-Bar or similar Tool.
4. Lift up on the Sensor mounting bracket till you have your desired height.
5. Turn your steering wheel to the opposite direction and do the same if you have an XJ8 that was built "Pre-December 2003".

Notes:
1. You may have to experiment with several settings to obtain a height to provide tire clearance for turning.
2. Photo shows right sensor, I have a Pre-December MY.
3. May need to adjust Headlamps to compensate for lowering.
4. 2nd Photo indicates normal stance, 3rd photo indicates lowered stance.

Does the rear lower automatically to compensate/level or do you need to adjust the sensor in back?

I need to check on that, I paid attention to the front.

The module and rear sensors did not compensate for the front being lowered.

The front fenders are 26.5 inches measured from the ground. The rear fenders were 27.5+ inches. I adjusted the rear brackets and the rear fenders are now 26.75 inches from the ground. Have photos, will post if anyone is interested.

Don't want my Cat to get soaked so will have to wait for a non-rainy day for a test drive.

Took my Cat out for a trot and everything seems fine.

Note: This was an experiment in adjusting the suspension without the use of sophisticated tools and software.

Way to cheat the system! I may try this in the future.

The good thing is that it is easy to reverse what you did.

I seen a photo of an XJ8 lowered back in 2011 and loved it. I researched the web for adjustable links that may fit on an XJ8 but currently there are none.
