Default Marker Lights

Does anyone know how to get the front marker lamps off so the bulb can be replaced. I thought it would be like the rear ones but this one doesn't want to budge.

I took mine off with a concrete post, fairly straightforward

Jack, if your lights are like the ones on the X-type, you will note that the light has a pointy end and a flat end. The pointy end has a spring clip in it and the flat end has a hook end. What I have found to be the easiest is to use a flat object (say a flat bladed screw driver with some tape over the end to prevent the screw driver from scratching the marker light) and place it against the flat end. Then move the marker light about 1/4" or less towards the pointy end. From here you will be able to pull the flat end out towards you, freeing the marker light from the car.

I have found that if you go after the spring clip end, the clip tends to get caught under the body and if you apply enough force to get it free, the spring clip is all messed up once you get it out.

Thanks for the description Thermo, I'll give it a try as soon as my wife gets back from the rodeo.
I'll pass on the concrete post Norri, you should have also.

Well after mis-steps while being very careful not to damage the paint, I thought I would try the credit card trick and sure enough, the front ones come out just like the back ones. Plastic credit card doesn't mar the paint. It seems these marker lights leak. You would think that a car born in a place that is cold and wet most of the time would be water proof. Thanks for the help and hope I can help sometime.
