Does anyone know how difficult it is to switch a radio non-navigation into a navigation system on a '06 xj8, and where would I start.

 

Head unit, optical cables, DVD drive, GPS antenna.....install, including routing cables from one end of the car to the other and back.

Have an audio shop hook you up with a nice modern double DIN unit and a custom install, it'll be cheaper and easier all around.
