Hi all,

Need to replace my rear rotors and pads soon. can anyone tell me which ones are the queitest and less dust residue.

I hear alot about EBC and Akebono. how about Textar or mintex?

Its for my 05 SUPER V8.

I have EBC rotors and rear pads on my 2004 XJ8 but had to replace the front EBC pads with regular Jaguar pads because the adhesive they used to put the backing plate of the pads started to let go which caused the backing plate to rub against the rotors. EBC wouldn't do anything about it so I just bought the OEM pads and slapped them on and haven't had a problem since.

The textar Brembo OE pads I feel are the best, despite dust and available on Amazon for around $60. The rotors can be gad for under $100 at brake performance. I am very pleased with both. The best solution to the dust problem is Armour All Wheel protectant which prevents dusts for up to 4 weeks.

I just want to mention that my rear brakes have been replaced with Akebono euro ceramic pads and Eurospare rotors.

I have no issues to report, they brake great, no dust and most of all quiet .

i highly recommend these replacement parts. in all it cost me $270 in parts .

Thanks for coming back to report Lou, much appreciated.

All good now, stopping power at the max, less brake dust AND a quiet ride, nice one.
