I need some help from the members of this forum. I am currently pondering the idea of purchasing a 2005 or 2006 XJ8 long wheel base. I would like to know about the reliability of the car. My dad had a 1999 XJ8 several years ago and I loved that car. He really didn't have any problems, the only thing I disliked abouf the car was the room on the inside. This is the reason he sold the car. I think buying a long wheel base will eliminate that problem and the newer models look bigger also. I currently own a Land Rover so I know how tempermental British cars can be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The X350 which replaced your father's model is markedly larger inside, and the long wheel base is like a limo in the back. I have the short wheel base version and its big enough for me.
Generally less faults than the X308 but some can be expensive to correct if they occur. The aftermarket companies are now supplying parts much cheaper than Jaguar for some of these expensive repairs so they dont cost so much. I have had my car since May 2010, a 2003 on 30k miles and so far, I have had to replace the air suspension compressor. Not too expensive, but it really should last longer, I think. There is now plenty of 2nd hand stuff now on the internet. 86,000 of these cars were made !
