I am wanting to make my exhaust a little better. I do not want to buy a extravagant exhaust system or anything like that. I am just looking to changing my mufflers. I am looking for a budget fix to my performance "sound" wants. I do not want my car, 04 XJ8, to be loud. I just want to purchase two mufflers that will give me a quite highway ride like it has now but with a nice sporty robust sound when im idling and getting on it around town. Also, I like the flowmaster sound on v8 mustangs, the sound of a stock zo6 vette, and how nissan 350 and 370z's sound. I love the way the new Jags sound. If I can get that from a budget muffler, I'm in. Any advise? Has anyone else changed there mufflers?

 

I'd go for the whole Mina exhaust or leave it as is. It's going to be crap shot if you just replace mufflers and the stock mufflers really look nice on the XJ.

If you replace the whole exhaust, you'll be able to swap it back and sell it should you move on from XJ or want to go back to OEM.

 

check out my video, removed the 2 center resonator. Doesn't change the sound inside but louder at idle and during acceleration, less than 100 bucks.
