New here, but not really a "newbie"
I've been a Forum follower for years in the XK8 and X-Type sections, but have never ventured into this section before. I sold my '00 XK8 a couple of years ago, and the Forum was invaluable in telling me what to watch for during my ownership. I was warned about the hydraulic hoses for the convertible top latch mechanism (mine ruptured, as predicted) and I went checking on my secondary cam chain tensioners (just in time!) and replaced them. Whew! I am considering retiring my '03 X-Type (a GREAT little car, but getting a bit high-mileage) with a much-lower-mileage '04 XJ8 . I believe the problematic tensioners had been superceded by the time the 4.2 engines appeared; yes? Is there anything else in particular I should watch for?
Thanks for the help- looking forward to participating in this group if I pull the trigger on an '8'.
