Default newbie needs help mystery coolant leak

hello everyone,

I've been lurking on the board for a few months now and recently purchased a 2004 XJ8,

I have a mystery leak… Am able to see some spurts I believe it's from under the intake manifold but I'm unable to find a diagram which delineates with hoses or lines which are located under the intake manifold… Any help, suggestions, tips… Etc. will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration

From what I understand, there's a hose under the intake manifold that warms the intake plenum. It requires an intake manifold removal to replace this hose. I'm sure someone will chime in with a diagram and part number.

I have replaced this hose. it is not a hard job to do. But if it is the one under the intake manifold you will have to remove the manifold. the hose goes form under the intake to the bottom of the throttle body. you can see the hose if you remove the air cleaner parts going to the throttle body. the hose will curve under the throttle body and under the manifold.
here is a link to the hose.

try to get a workshop manual. they are very helpful when having to work on the car. If you do take the manifold off, be carful. there is a hose attached to the back of the intake and the MAP sensor back there. you can't see them because they are under the wiring harness.

I suggest getting one of those digital inspection cameras. I got one at for about $90 at harbor freight. When you have those hard to get a light on and look at areas, they can be really helpful in seeing places with the flexible cable.
