OBD2 Device for 2004 XJR Report
Thanks, OldKarz. For all the reasons listed above, I'm not sure. Were you able to find one that you like? I may send back if I don't hear back from their tech support folks; doesn't look like I will.
I had a similar issue with the cruise on my 2000 XK8. Turned out to be a faulty break switch telling the computer that I was braking which prevented the cruise control from functioning.
Regarding error codes, I am looking for a complete list of error codes with a description and suggested remedies. I just purchased a BlueDriver OBD2 reader. It has the plug and communicates with your phone/tablet/computer via bluetooth. So far it works on my Lincoln my XK8. From the app on your device you can share the report via email, text, etc. So far, so good. I am a mechanical novice when it comes to cars, so I'm looking for more details on resolving the error codes.
Just curious, I am getting a "restricted performance" message on the dash display and then the car runs rough (limp mode to protect the engine), then the message disappears, car runs smooth, then the process repeats. Seems like if there is a true problem with the car, the error should remain. Car sat idle for a month, took it for a spin and the check engine light and restricted performance appeared.
My error codes are;
P0357 Ignition Coil "G" Primary Control Circuit/Open
P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected
P1316 Check report for description. mystery error at this point
P0357 Ignition Coil "G" Primary Control Circuit/Open

Looks like a intermittent connector problem on Cyl 7 coil. Could also be injector on way out. P1316 is telling you that you are polluting due to the miss. If connector seem OK then swap coil to another cylinder and see if the fault follows it.
Download the workshop manual, from this site, it has most of the codes, causes and actions. It is also searchable which lets you find all the references to the fault.

As I gather more info on this device, will post my findings.
Just did a re-test & found only a few codes & P1111 was restored.
Since the most pressing issue for me is the ACC not working, I have posted the new codes on:
