Default Parking brake not releasing

2007 XJ8 just replaced radiator, auxiliary water pump, main water pump, thermostat and housing. Went to go for a test drive and can't get the parking brake to release. Does anyone have any ideas?

Might have to run a jumper wire to it via the plug that connects to the parking brake module if it won’t release. Mine has done this a few times. You could also try disconnecting battery cables and touch them together to reset. Then you’ll get the parking brake recalibration procedure when you go start up the car which might sort it.

Thanks. I have disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and that got the brakes to release, but now the dash display reads "apply foot and parking brake" and constantly has the warning beeper going while driving. I might try your other suggestions next. Please let me know if there is anything else I should be trying, and thank you for your help.
*Also dash display reads coolant low which it isn't.

Follow those prompts to complete the calibration and that should get rid of the alarm bells.

The "apply foot and parking brake" is the instruction to reset the parking brake. Do what it says. Press the brake pedal, then lift up the parking brake handle. Done. No more alarm beep.

Coolant low warning means the sensor on the bottom of the recovery tank didn't get connected.
