Hi guys, I’ve had my xj for awhile and maybe 5 months ago I keep getting a parking break fault code on my dash. What i don’t understand is my parking break still works, i can turn it on and off whenever i need to. Do i need a new module? I have also tried the reset procedure and it still comes back after a couple of minutes

Try pushing the brake pedal down, while pressing down on the emergency brake release.

You need to read the code from the parkbrake module to see what it thinks is wrong. One of the readers like the iCarsoft LR II would let you see what codes are stored in just about any of the controllers.

Same issue here. It happened a year or two ago and the dealership replaced the brake switch and it went away. Now it’s just started back up again. Currently at the shop.
