PCV valve -- not regulating?

I miss your point;
What was being talked about was a slop jar, so to speak. To catch any oil solids in the crankcase vapors, that now days are sucked back through the intake manifold. Instead of into the air like back in the 50's, & earlier times. Sort of like a water pipe catches a lot of solids, unlike a regular pipe.

There seems to be a lot of confusion here.
Am I right in thinking the disc shaped attachment over Bank 1 is just an oil separator, and that the PCV valve attaches to the disc via the hose that comes out its side?
