Oops, my mistake - ###3#*# is correct. You need to see if you have a bluetooth module installed. You can do this easily. Just pop out the rear ac vents in the rear of the console and see if anything is plugged into the handset plug. It's the red one on the left in this picture.

Guess I'm a little tentative about taking the rear controls off (see picture below) as I haven't seen instructions for the kind I have. I agree that is the next step. Reckon I'll have to pony up the diagnostic charge from the dealer. It's not terribly important I get it working, but it would sure be nice to use. Original paperwork for the car showed that Bluetooth was installed as an option.
Appreciate the help.

Correct, the wood surround just 'pops' out, pry out carefully. There are 8 or so small torx screws to remove, and the a/c and heated seat buttons w/ power outlets come out you can see inside for that connector referenced above.

Got it opened up...H2O was right on. It was simple to do. Saw the cable and connector for the BTUM and unplugged it (at least the cable had the words BTUM on the white label). Waited a few minutes and plugged it back in to see if it would reset. Still had the HANDSET IN USE so cleared it using the User Settings technique. Then punched in ##3#*# and hit the green phone button. Did not receive a Check Phone, but did not see a Discover Me msg either. Turned my BB bluetooth on but did not find any Jaguar bt to connect to. Turned the car off and back on again, and it's reverted back to the same as before. I can clear the Handset msg using User Settings, but when I punch in ##3#*# I get the Check Phone msg again. Sounds like I need a new BTUM?
I've attached a couple pics of the cable.

Greg, it also says in the BT handbook, that you only have 2 minutes to pair a new phone after turning on the ignition. Also, the BT module needs at least 6 minutes following ignition shutoff before it can be turned on again, often causing error messages. I doubt you have the handbook, so found it and linked it HERE for you. Keep at it, you'll get it solved. Don't buy a new one and spend $400 when you don't need too.
