Default Pitted chrome wheels

I cleaned my chrome wheels recently with a caustic chrome wheel cleaner.
The cleaner removed most but not all black grainy deposits on the inner part of the spokes. My 1993 Volvo had similar deposits that I could not remove entirely.
Now, after a period of rain, I saw white alloy corrosion streaks on the wheels.
I recleaned the wheels and used a liquid wax to "seal" the surface.
Going forward what is the best way to remove these black deposits?
Keep using the chrome wheel cleaner?
The pads are Jurid. Are there any others that stop as well and that have less corrosive dust? I do not mind the dust, just the damage it causes!
The car has only 49k miles and yet the wheels have been chemically damaged.

First are you sure of the materials of your wheels?
In principle it should be aluminum alloy coated by a chromium film deposited on an intermediate nickel layer to improve adhesion and avoid cracks.
The coating should have beeen performed very carefully so to avoid any corrosion path through the deposited layers.
If the coating was not deposited using state of the art processes and is not perfect (leading to porosity, flaking), using a strong caustic paste may further damage your layers and the material underneath. Which seems to be the case now with the whitish traces of aluminum oxide, and once it started, it's over...
You may well have to undertake a new chromium coating process by a renowned professional.
Could you please show close-up pictures of your wheels?
