God I am glad you guys helped convince me into an XJ, looks and feels so much more than an S-type. I still can't wipe this grin off my face.
I was able to get the service records for my XJ, it was one owner and serviced at the same local dealer here all its life. It was at this dealer 21 times in 75k miles. Mostly routine oil changes and maintenance, but several repairs or check outs. This thing was babied. I also learned, that at 48k miles the transmission fluid was flushed (completely 16 quarts) and replaced under warranty with the latest spec fluid!!!!! due to the "Squak". So I don't have to worry about that. Thanks for your help!!

 

question Clif, how did you get the dealer records ? did you go to any jaguar dealer and just ask ? curious thats all

 

I found the dealers name on the car fax records, which happened to be the local one. I went down to that dealer and just asked them. I did have to show proof of ownership. Apparently it is not universal system, so if my car had been repaired at another dealer, my local dealer would not have been able to pull up the records. At least that is what the lady told me that was pulling my records, don't know if that is valid or not.
