Default Power from Cigar Lighter Socket-2005XJ8

Manual says not to use cigar lighter socket for power. The power sockets in the glove box and rear console are not as easy to use for my portable seat heater as the front cigar lighter socket. All have 15 amp fuses. Is there really a problem with using the lighter socket?

I've never had any issue with it.

AFAIK the only issue that typically happens is that the car charger plugs bend the little tabs back in the receptacle. Result, cigarette/cigar lighter won't stay in and automatically pop out when hot. If you don't smoke, charge away!
