Default Power Outlet

Knowing the electronics really like full voltage to keep them happy and not get the sulks and behave badly I wanted to keep the battery on a trickle charge when not in use. The logical, to me at least, way of doing this is with an easy plug in system and as the Jag has a power outlet at the rear of the arm rest it should be a piece of cake.
NOT SO. The outlet is only active with the ignition on accessories so I had to devise a plan 'B'. I still wished to utilise the same type of outlet fitting as my charger already had this fitted to the cable.
PLAN 'B'. I purchased a flange mounted female power outlet and fitted it to the small compartment cover at the rear of the boot. I hard wired it directly to to battery with an inline fuse close to the + terminal. JOB DONE.
