Question Pyle PWD303 Remote start

I found this Remote Starter for 2004 Jag XJR and wonder if any of you have one installed and in working condition.

PWD303 Pyle Add on Remote Starter for 04-up Jaguar XJ at Andy's Auto Sport

Basic idea it should work with Jags security system as add-on.

Any thoughts?

Hmmmmm...... I think at the very least you are going to need a bypass module to get around the immobilizer. A bypass module is basically a little box that you put a spare transponder key inside. When the remote start is activated, the bypass module sends the same signal that your key does which disables the immobilizer and allows the car to start.

You will also need the remote starter to disarm the factory alarm system because otherwise the alarm will go off once the engine starts (due to the factory alarm voltage sensor)

I've had remote starts on older cars before, but the fact that I need to leave a key in the car (albeit inside the bypass module) for the XJ has put me off doing it....

If you do go for it I'd be interested to see what it turns out like

Not according to Pyle. They are guarantee you won't need any extras

Immobilizer stays unmolested because there is no forced entry or anything that alerts immobilizer.

The trick is Parking Break, as I understand, it must be on.

Any other thoughts?

There are 2 security devices working in parallel on the X350, similar to most other modern cars

Part 1) An immobilizer --> This part prevents the car from starting without the key

Part 2) A security system --> This part monitors for intrusions to the car and sets off a siren when tripped.

so, "Immobilizer stays unmolested because there is no forced entry or anything that alerts immobilizer. " doesn't make any sense. I agree the immobilizer is unmolested, however, it is also going to inhibit the start. Period. It will continue to inhibit the start until a key with the transponder chip in it is present.

The parking brake has nothing to do with the ability to get around the immobilizer. The parking brake connection is only a safety feature for the remote start to make sure the car is safe to remote start. Even if the parking brake is set correctly, and the connection to the remote start is correct, the remote start will not work because if the immobilizer

So.... I contacted Pyle........ (not sure who you actually talked to)

Here is the email :

"This part is universal, you will see that under the Fits on,
underneath description.

Meaning it work on your Jag.

It is not designed specifically for the Jag.

As for the transponder, we have additional parts designed to trick the
system into seeing the key.

Let me know if you have any questions.

As I told you, you need a transponder bypass module
