Default really dumb question

I noticed my XJ8 has no holes for the front license plate. Do you just bolt the plate to the front bumper?

There is a plate holder made for the car. It is usually shipped in the boot when new. Most get discarded if a front plate in not required. Some dealers will hang on to a few to give customers that want them. I believe the dealers rivet them on the bumper.

Yep....we rivet them on. We always leave it in the trunk on the spare wheel.

Thanks for all the info. Do you need to take the bumper cover off?

No. Just drill small pilot hole and rivet it on
