Yesterdayday it just stopped working. When I shift to reverse, the red overhead indicator light comes on indicating park assist is turned off. Pressing the off/on button does nothing. It does work however when I am in forward gear (if something gets too close to the rear of the car). Forward alert works just fine.

 

According to the manual, the overhead indicator means a fault in the system, duh...

Any ideas before I spend a bunch of time taking it to the dealer?

 

Just a sensor broken . Will have to take it to the dealer and see which sensor has logged a fault code. And get that sensor replaced
