I wrote down the following off of my girlfriends JAG remote. I don't know the year of her's and I'm trying to surprise her. This is a new girlfriend. It is a XJ8. The pictures on the site look identical to hers.

Those part numbers are not the same. Have you just miss-typed them?

 

What are you trying to surprise your girlfriend with? No reference to the MY, but if you have an X350 with the switchblade key you'll only get the reomte side to work with DIY programming. The key itself will not work, even if it is cut exactly the same as your present one, as the security code needs to be linked up with your car's BPM. You'll need the dealer's SDD to do that.

Brace yourself, as some dealers don't like it too much when you bring in an Ebay or online key as they sell them too. As a result, some dealers will soak you for the programming.

 

I think I had a typo. The J is really a 2(i think). It's not the remote with the key attached. It's just the box by itself. It finally arrived via UPS.

Now, I need programming instructions. I have 3-4 ways from this forum and the internet. She is out of town. Want be back 'til Father's day.

Is there a battery in the trunk of the XJ8?
