Default Retrofit TCM from x150 XKR?

Hi!

My name is Efra and I just introduced myself in the specific forum for such regard. I have a ‘07 XKR x150 convertible and a ‘07 XJR x356. As far as I know, both share engines and transmissions (ZF 6hp26), but they couldn’t behave more different in terms of power delivery and shifting. The XKR pulls stronger on high revs (fixable), but the biggest difference to me is regarding to the transmission. In the XKR the transmission is WAY faster in manual mode, and the paddles work just amazing for the kind of car it is (GT). I miss that feeling and response on the XJR.

Having count the transmission hardware should quite similar, does anyone know if is it possible to retrofit a x150 XKR TCU on a x356/x358 XJR?

BTW, I’m really sorry if I commit grammar mistakes on my posts, as English it is not my first language and I don’t use it very often. I’ll try to do my best 😊

Kind regards from Spain!

That's an interesting thought, unfortunately I have no knowledge about whether or not that's feasible. What I can say is that Paramount Performance does offer TCM programming that might satisfy you. BUT I just looked closer and they don't specify model years, would have to check. I also don't know how much they can be trusted, I have no experience with them and haven't heard much.

Hi!

Thank you so much for your reply, it is very interesting. I knew those guys (because they make upgraded supercharger pulleys) but I didn’t have a clue about this option.

Kind regards

tcm hardware is pretty much identical it just won’t work with an x356 ecm until it’s flashed with the relevant file and you’re back to square one
