Had the same symptoms for my2004 X350.
Turns out one of the early posters hit it dead on - good call Lagonia.
It's called "morning sickness" and it killed my car.
I assume low quality gas may have been the culprit.
It's amazing how hindsight gives you 20/20 vision.
