I started out today with the intention of changing my cabin and filters but wound up cleaning the engine bay. The cabin filter went in pretty quickly. However, when I started the air cleaner swap, I got a bit ambitious and started cleaning out the engine bay. I realized in short order there are a ton of little nooks and crannies that proved a bit of trouble to get access to. I had the usual hassle of removing the air intake tube to lift the air cleaner top. A quick look inside the box, and more cleaning required. At this time I started feeling I was peeling the Jaguar equivalent of an onion. The more I cleaned the more I needed to. Well finally I got the air cleaner installed with only minor injuries ( mashed my little finger on a hard object. Note: no beers were consumed during this exercise and there were no pieces left on the ground.

How did you go about cleaning the engine bay?


I used a spray bottle of APC and some 1" and 2" paintbrushes and a rag, this was followed up with a spray of "Wet n Black" then buffed to a matt sheen.....decent results I think

I hand painted my Jaguar in Red and have also added a leaper ( this is chrome ) and will be removed and a red one to match the Jaguar lettering added.
