Has anyone tried replacing the instrument cluster bulbs with LED'S? If so, did you find them much brighter and could they be dimmed like the bulbs?
Would there be any electrical damage?

I haven't done anything with my X350, but the LED clocks in the X300s would go out, partly due to the heat of the incandescent bulbs. I had it repaired by a module repair shop in Idaho and they replaced all of the bulbs with LEDs. They were the same color as the original, they dim. Very happy with them (and the repair has a owner lifetime warranty on the repair. Don't know what bulbs they used, but if there were LEDs that would replace the incandescent bulbs in the X350, that would be something I'd want to do as soon as the first bulb goes.
