I get theyre rare beasts but $20,000 for a 15 year old VDP?

Woo I had the XJ8L in White Onyx last year, sweet,sweet motif !

 

It is a supercharged VDP and very nice looking, but $20K is a lot of money for a 2001.

 

At least three times what it is worth.

 

GR Auto Gallery is overpriced on everything. I live about ten miles away and I'd sell my 98 XJR with less miles for 8k right now. Maybe less.

 

Somebody went wild with the black spray undercoating to cover everything. What a mess for the next owner if they do their own work.

 

And ugh on those DVD player headrests.

 

Yeah that mileage isn't what's due for that kind of coin, in 10 more years, feasible lol.

 

Thats always a red flag when Im looking at a car, Id much rather see honest dirt and surface rust. And looking at the pictures again Id almost think the rear diff was leaking with all that sheen.

 

One born every minute...someone will buy it.

But that is one seriously optioned-out automobile. Only think missing is a drinks globe and pair of fuzzy slippers. Didn't look to see if it had the lambswool floor mats, to tell the truth.

I'd pay 8 or 9 k for it, tops.

 

If that VDP is worth $20,000.00 I can retire right now!

 

There's aa 98 for sale locally with 130k for $3000.
But $20,000????

 

Low mile (30-40k) 02-03 XJR's can go for 12k+ ... maybe a VDP ... they appeal a smaller market at present. All things being equal it will always be worth more then a regular 01 VDP -- and it is a better car with the lack of VVT and the MB box.
