This may sound unusual, yet a typical Jaguar oddity maybe?


The left side of my heated steering wheel no longer works but the right side gets toasty warm. It's not a big deal, just irritating. Any thoughts or ideas anyone?

 

No answer for you, but how much of the steering wheel normally gets warm? I can only feel a slight warmth coming from the very bottom section in ours.

 

The whole wheel got warm, almost hot. I think it is supposed to heat from the bottom and radiate upwards but now the left side stays cool (unheated.)

 

I've never had the steering wheel apart or even off the shaft for that matter, but I know my old 1988 300zx used various types of pickups to get the cruise and radio controls to work and still allow full 360 rotation. Perhaps the pickup for the left side is dirty or damaged. Other than that, I wonder if the heating elements can burn out independently?

 

my steering wheel sometimes gets super hot and sometimes only slightly warm. Albeit this is on both sides. There doesn't seem to be too much heat at the top and bottom in my case.

I'm just glad it works because its the only thing with the seat, keeping me warm in the car at the moment!!
