Default Stock Alpine amp Bridge

I really want or more over have a deep desire to up grade the stock audio system in my 2004 XJ-R. Also, sine i tool the rear deck apart to tint the rear window properly, I decided to investigate the subs mounted in the rear deck.

so, common knowledge they are 2-6 1/2" woofers at 4-ohm each

However (in my experience) all alpine amps can bridge to a 4-ohm load.

so i tested it.

Positive(+) from left and negative (-) from right.

so if the 2-6 1/2" speakers were replaced by 8-ohm drivers this is potential double the power with negligible strain on the amp

tho i am going to chose to go a bit further. i thought this type of info my chose to be useful.

quick clarification

you would connect the 2 new 8-ohm drivers in parallel + to + and - to - then same to left + then right - to achieve a safe 4-ohm load bridged

You can't double the power output without extra 'strain' on the amp, it still has to obey the laws of physics. (Look up Ohm's law which explains the relationship between current, voltage, resistance and power).
