Default Systems Failure brake fault...etc ,, Please help

Hello Folks

I have a 2004 VDP that recently developed few codes. Most important is P1229 and P1338 but the P1338 didn't re appear when I erased the codes using a scanner. When I start the vehicle it shows systems fault, parking brake fault...etc and when I press the gas pedal rpms doesn't go beyond 1200-1400 rpms.

Does this mean I am gonna need a new throttle body? please help me out

As said Veffremov.
New TB. After one year of experiments with my S-type, I bought new TB and I am w/o problems for three years.

New in UK (NA, from VIN (G49701)) :
Jaguar Partno_AJ811770_BODY-THROTTL_David Manners Group Discount
New in UK (SC, from VIN (G49701) To VIN (H24092)) :
Jaguar Partno_C2C24624_BODY-THROTTL_David Manners Group Discount

Maybe will be helpful.

Very unlikely to be the throttle body IMO.

VERY likely to be the just TPS which are available now.

To replace I would photograph the positions of the two screws holding

the TPS in place and set the new TPS in the same position.

The TPS is supposed to be fitted to a set voltage but I think the above procedure would be good

enough.

No harm in cleaning the TB at the same time of course.

Yes it is TPS, if you want to try and replace only that part. New TB comes with new TPS, so it solves the issue as well.

Here is a link to the TPS part number. The TPS position would likely needs to be calibrated.

Here is a link to a more affordable throttle body for NA engines:

I believe the TPS has tamper proof screws. Can you (or another member) tell us what type of bit is required to remove the TPS? I'm having trouble finding 5 point torx bits (if that's what it is) locally and want to make sure I buy the correct bits online. Thanks!

FYI, along with the normal weird electrical gremlins associated with this bizzar problem, my windshield wipers are moving a bit on their own, sometimes they crawl half-way up the windshield! But the car still runs fine. No limp-home mode.

BTW, this whole issue is a real head-scratcher. I've never seen so many "fixes" for a single problem. Everything from a new battery, to cleaning the TB to replacing the TPS to a damaged wiring harness/connector to something in the fuse block. Very strange.

Thanks again for everyones help.
