Default Temporary Air strut fix.

For small annoying leaks or even possibly helping to get back home on a long trip if not a catastrophic failure ie a large hole.

That's a very tempting idea. I replaced my fronts but am still getting the intermittent failure sign after the car sits a few days. I assume it's one or both of the tears.....may be worth a test

I think it is tempting. The only "issue" I see is that with a tire you are supposed to rotate it after squirting in the sealant, to spread it around, and of course with a strut you cannot do that.

Looks like a good idea for a temporary fix...However, isn't there a risk that it could block the exhaust vent used when the Shock is lowered?

After sealing things up, would that aspect of the shock still function???

Shock might just stay fully inflated, it stops air leaking from leaking out of the tire after all.

I have seen motorcycle tires with this stuff inside.

It didn't leak air, but you could not check the pressure, or add any air.

Not good for a long term fix, but to get you home, a good possibility of it working.

I suspect it might well do that.

I was thinking more in terms of getting home when 450 miles away where I would not be able to obtain a replacement strut.

Hello John,

Yes, makes sense....I just did not know whether or not this would be an issue?
