I have a 2004 xj8 that I love. The audio system is the bare-bones minimum that the xj8 can have - no nav, voice, or cd changer. I installed the "iSimple Tranzlt BLU" to play Bluetooth through the audio system. The Bluetooth works flawlessly, and I'm happy with just that and I have no need for a disk changer (one did not come with this car).

I have GPS on my phone and I have no need for Navigation as an option in my car!!!

My question is = is the oem screen "plug and play" or will I need a harness to hook up the air condition to the touchscreen?

All I want to do is install the oem touchscreen without hooking up navigation and a cd changer.

Please help family!

You think, that is what you want, but it is not. The touch screen does not function without the navigation system. All climate control functions are performed by the nav unit.

 

Thank you for the response veffremov. I love the look of the touchscreen! I do not want the navigation system to work. Are you saying that I can't control the climate control and the 1 disk cd player if the navigation is not hooked up????

My end goal = to have the oem touchscreen that controls the climate and the radio/1 disk player and that is it.
