The buttons on my key fob were getting worn so I changed to my spare key. Now there are two beeps when I switch off the engine. I get no other warnings, I have opened and closed all doors, windows, trunk and hood. When I use my old key, no beeps. The key fob works in all other respects. Is there a low battery sensor? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mine does it occasionally, but I've never worked out why !
When I changed the button covers, my fob buttons became very sensitive. Sometimes before removing the key I must be slightly pushing a button on the fob, and get 2 beeps. This beep will happen anytime you try to arm the car with the key in, or when a door/boot/bonnet is ajar.

Mine will do the same if the hood is open slightly, trunk, or door etc.
Sometimes my hood will not close perfectly as it has to catch both sides and even tho from a distance it looks closed its not. I have to
slam it shut holding the center front of the hood.
So if one of the sensors is not quite positioned/working properly ?

Thank you Mark! I think you pointed me in the right direction. My newer fob was more sensitive and I was touching one of the buttons as I switched off. I confirmed that pressing any of the buttons with the key in the ignition resulted in the beep-beep. To be doubly sure I got the old fob and by pressing the buttons a little harder, got the same result. So thanks again Mark for helping me exorcise another ghost in the machine!
