Default Low Coolant Warning

Hi,

i got a low coolant warning after switching to S mode on my Jaguar XJR supercharged, and the warning went away after i switched back to normal mode, could it be related to the supercharge or its just the coolant is low, please advice.

Regards

It won't be related to the supercharger. Check your coolant tank, very carefully check all the coolant hoses and check the sensor in the coolant tank.

The supercharger is running all the time the engine is. The sport button just lengthens the time on gear shifts.
You have a leak somewhere on the coolant system.

Probably not related to the button selector, but you might have brought more heat in during some spirited driving.
As mentioned, it can be several things, and might take a bit of observing time to find.
Can be just too low level, a leak, the reservoir cap, the thermostat, or a warning of something to come ...

Just be very careful not to overheat the engine, the instrument gauge in NO indication of what is really going on.
It will stay in the middle most of the time, only to shoot up once it is almost too late.

On a side-note, THAT is a beautiful car, don't see many with a body kit around.

The low coolant level comes on at 1/2 tank. Not much of a leak and you will see it.
Carry a gallon of water in the trunk. It serves many purposes. If the car breaks down
for whatever reason, it is nice to have while you walk to civilization or await rescue.
It is handy if the reservoir is a little low. If you have to keep adding water every month, then you need to find and fix the leak though
