Tyre Choice.
A dilemma faced by many of you I imagine....
I have had the usual vibration from by 2007 X350 TDvi - it has not been resolved by balancing but does seem to have moved to the front of the car once the wheels were rotated.
As the front tyres are getting near the markers I am going to replace them to see if this cures any remaining vibrations.
At the moment they are Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres that are on there (255 35 R20) but I am considering maybe replacing all 4 with another brand as maybe it is the Dunlop tyres in general that are causing issues with vibrations as I know they are a pretty standard fit for these cars.
Has anyone had any tyres fitted recently that have improved any wheel vibrations without too much of a compromise on road noise / wet weather grip??
Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

I had a severe steering wheel shimmy that got worse over 60mph. After replacing the lower front control arms and getting the wheels aligned it got better but was still present. There was severe wear on the inside of the left front tire so it was time to replace the old Pirelli's. I put on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (255/40 x 19). Now the shimmy is about 95% gone and the wet and dry road holding are much better. And they were the least expensive options compared to Continentals and Pirellis.
