Default Tyre Suddenly Deflated No Puncture Or Valve Leak?

Dear Forum,

My rear Driver's side tyre suddenly went completely flat as I was driving up the ramp from my basement car park? I took it to a garage and they could not find a leak. The valve appears to be okay in that the tyre has now been re-inflated and it does not leak?

I am now on the spare tyre and I am reluctant to return to the original tyre because (obviously) I am a little concerned that it may do this again, but this time at 140 kph?

Anybody else experience this and can throw some light, please?

Did the shop take the tyre off, inspect it, fit a new valve, then refit ? If not, then I suggest you need to have this done before using that wheel again.

Thank you Fraser. The valve on this wheel had leaked before (about a month ago). If you moved it from side to side it leaked. I am assuming they must have replaced the valve because it stopped leaking after I had them look at it. It does not leak now when I move it from side to side.
Nevertheless, I take onboard what you are saying and I will take it back to them again.....Perhaps take it elsewhere.....

EsRay, if they fitted a new valve, they would have taken the wheel off, you can't replace a valve with the tyre on the wheel. So it looks as if they did a good job.

Do you have the tire pressure sensor light system on your car?
If not it may have been leaking slowly without you noticing?
If you do have the system, buy two or four new tires.
