I have a 2004 XJ8 with 115,000 miles on it. I just replaced all four tires. Did a four wheel alignment. The car still feels like I am driving on ICE. Slugiesh at best. Control is ok. But, feel like I am all over the road. Any ideals???
Might it be possible that what you are feeling is tramlining. I know high performance summer tires with a lot of grip can make a car feel a bit squirrly as the tires tend to follow the ruts and grooves in the road. I know when I had some super sticky Pirrelli tires on my car it was almost un-driveable on the frost heave pot hole laden things we call roads in New England.
Geo,
In your post you used the term "still feels". I therefore infer that you had the problem prior to the new tires.
Perhaps you should be looking at steering and suspension links/components. Probably the sooner the better.

This sounds like the symptoms of worn control arm bushings. Just get someone to check the suspension, it's nothing fancy. I sure would not want to feel like I was driving a dangerous handling car. It would be unusual for new tires to tramline. This behavior usually begins with low profile tires that are about 1/2 to 3/4 worn.
